The start of a year is God's way of hitting F5. An opportunity to start something new and redefine yourself by shedding old habits. The addition of yet another number on the calendar year is the perfect reason to take up those piano lessons you've been meaning to get around to for the past 15 years. Also, it's a perfect reason to yet again conclude that pianos are for suckers and instead play awesome video games. With DC Universe Online coming out on January 11, 2011, there's not a lot of time to make a decision.

In 2011 the release calendar looks to be impossibly packed with huge hits. Quite honestly, it wouldn't be very surprising to see some of these delayed, but for now we're going to assume everything stays on schedule. Below you'll find a list of the 10 biggest games of 2011 on PC. Note that because Blizzard still hasn't officially confirmed a release window for Diablo III, it isn't included. The list also leaves off some other potentially great action-RPGs such as Torchlight II, Dungeons Siege III, and Darkspore and MMOs like Rift and TERA and, assuming it'll actually be ready in 2011, Guild Wars 2. It's not that we hate those games, but there's only so much room. And yes we put three BioWare games on here, but let's face it, BioWare is the best at what it does. Keep in mind Minecraft will theoretically also be deemed complete by developer Mojang Specifications in 2011, but because that's kind of up in the air at this point, it's also not on here. Basically, there are way more than 10 cool games coming out in 2011, but here are the top 10 most promising.
